This page gives some
tips and aftercare advice for Manicures,
Pedicures, Acrylic and Gel Nails
|
|
Please
do not pick or bite at your nails or cuticles.
Doing this will cause your nail enhancements to
weaken which will substantially reduce their life.
This will also cause damage to the natural nail. |

Do
not use your nails to pick or scratch. This puts
undue pressure on the enhancement and may cause
them to weaken and break. |
|
Nail
enhancements will be weakened and damaged by harsh
treatment, for example exposing them to detergents.
Always wear cotton lined rubber gloves, or your
nails could become brittle and more prone to breakage. |
|
Nail
enhancements of any kind will need maintenance.
Please make sure you keep all your maintenance
appointments. They are really important for keeping
your nails looking beautiful and detecting any
possible problems. |
|
If
the enhancement is lifting or damaged, and this
is ignored, it could lead to bacterial infection.
Do not pick or lift it, as this will cause damage
to the natural nail. Please make an appointment
so you can have them repaired. |
|
Please
do not buff your nails around the cuticle area
as this can cause serious damage to the natural
nail. |
|
Nail
enhancements can be removed safely with an appropriate
solution. This should be followed by a manicure
to restore flexibility and moisture to the natural
nail. This is a professional procedure and should
only be performed by a qualified technician. |
|
If
you notice any discolouration under your enhancements,
please call for an appointment as soon as possible. |
|
Always
use a base coat when using coloured polishes.
A top coat will help prevent chipping. |
|
Always
use a non-acetone polish remover. This is considered
the most appropriate for artificial nail structures. |
|
Using
reccommended oil on your nails and cuticles will
prolong the life of your enhancements, and reduce
the risk of breakage by keeping your natural nail
flexible. |
|
Treat
your new enhancements with care until you get
used to them. There are many traps for unsuspecting
nails, ( car doors, ring pulls on cans etc ) Please
be careful. |
